Mohareb will be dealt with decisively: Iran's Judiciary chief

TEHRAN, Feb. 1 (MNA) – Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani stated here on Sunday that the Judiciary will deal decisively with “Mohareb” (enemies of God).
The judicial system will never show any leniency in dealing with groups that are vainly attempting to disrupt security in the country and destabilize the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Larijani stated in a meeting with judicial officials in Tehran.
The Judiciary chief also said the two convicts who were executed on Thursday had taken up arms and were linked to terror groups or been arrested with explosives.
“Criminal law was accurately observed in all the stages of legal proceedings” in their cases, he noted.
He also said despite previous cautions certain people still expect the Judiciary to show leniency but the Judiciary acts on all criminal cases in accordance with the law.
Ayatollah Larijani called on judges to follow the letter of the law and not let political disputes cloud their judgment.
