Iran-AU to form joint committee on bilateral co-op: FM
Addis Ababa, Feb 1, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Mnister Manouchehr Mottaki said Iran and the African Union are to form a technical committee in the next two months to help promote bilateral cooperation.
Mottaki made the remarks while talking to reporters on the sidelines of the 14th AU Summit meeting in Ethiopia.
He said Iran’s approach in the past few years has been to foster cooperation with the African states.
Iran’s foreign minister added that the country seeks multilateral cooperation with the African nations.
He further announced that the AU Chairman Jean Ping is scheduled to visit Tehran in the next few months to review issues of mutual interest with Iranian officials./end
