MPs warn prominent figures to avoid mixed stand

Tehran, Feb 1, IRNA -- Some 218 Members of Parliament said in a statement on Sunday that prominent figures are expected to defend the Islamic Republic and avoid mixed stand about the enemy's conspiracies.

On the eve of ten-day dawn (February 1-11) marking the 31st anniversary of victory of the Islamic Revolution, the MPs urged the prominent figures to pursue the path of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatolloh Seyed Ali Khamenei and remain committed to the cause of Islamic Revolution.

The MPs said that the prominent figures must take the opportunity to renew allegiance to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

“We must give stern warning to the enemies and bullying powers that their conspiracies will be thwarted by Iranian wise and vigilant nation as before,” read the statement.

“We advise the prominent figures who fanned the flames of dispute (a reference to dispute over result of presidential election on June 12) to make good on their mistakes and remain committed to rule of law,” the statement said.

The prominent figures should fully obey the commands of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and respect solidarity of Iranian nation by taking transparent stand toward the enemy's conspiracies, read the statement./end
