Senegal seeks Iranian agricultural expertise

TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (MNA) – The Senegalese minister of agriculture and fishery called for using Iran’s experience in agricultural development, especially in rice cultivation.

In a meeting with the Iranian minister of agricultural jihad in Tehran on Saturday, Fatou Gaye Sar praised Iran’s developments in agriculture, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported.

She asked for Iran’s aid in building greenhouses and silos and increasing rice and wheat yields, adding that her country needed Iranian help in manufacturing agricultural equipment and machinery.

She also expressed the interest in importing dates from Iran.

Iranian minister Sadeq Khalilian voiced Iran’s readiness to export up to 1,000 tractors to Senegal, adding that Iranian experts can help Senegalese farmers boost rice output.
