INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “WOMEN AND PUBLIC SPHERE� KICKED OFF IN BAKU
Baku, June 19 (AzerTAj) - Three-day international conference entitled “Women and the public sphere� kicked off in Baku on June 18.
The event brought together representatives from Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, India, Brazil, Turkey and Ukraine.
Opening the event rector of the Khazar University Dr. Hamlet Isakhanli spoke of the importance of the conference.
Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Aynur Sofiyeva spoke of women’s role in the progress of society, as well as national leader Heydar Aliyev’s care for women in Azerbaijan.
Afterwards, the conference attendees discussed women’s participation in public life and other relevant issues.
