Rafsanjani: Iranian nuclear program, irreversible
Tehran, Jan 31, IRNA -- Chairman of the Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Saturday that the Iranian nuclear program is irreversible.
Ayatollah Rafsanjani made the remarks in a meeting of the Expediency Council to draw up outlines of the Consumption Model.
He said that the nuclear powers should understand that Iranian nuclear program is symbol of national resolve.
On provision of fuel for Tehran medical research reactor, Ayatollah Rafsanjani said that Iran is serious to either buy fuel for the reactor or produce 20 percent enriched uranium.
The global arrogance, the US in particular, has masterminded new waves of propaganda campaign against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Rafsanjani said.
He said that the enemies of the Islamic Revolution are to set new round of economic sanctions to damage the national economy, but to no avail.
They try to attain their sinister goal through launching psychological war and increasing their political pressures, he said.
He invited the people from different walks to life to exercise unity and vigilance and said that all people are expected to actively take part in the national ceremony of 22nd of Bahman (February 11) marking the 31st anniversary victory of the Islamic Revolution./end
