Injured Kewell only out for a month

The Socceroos' World Cup aspirations have received a boost with Harry Kewell's
management saying the Australian winger should only miss a month with his latest
injury.

Kewell has been in Sydney the past week seeking medical advice on a groin problem
which has prevented him from playing with his Turkish club side Galatasaray since
December.
There had been fears the injury was a recurrence of an adductor problem that
cruelled Kewell's stint with Liverpool and that he could be out for up to five
months, throwing his World Cup campaign into jeopardy.
But after visiting several specialists in Sydney, Kewell has learned he does not
need surgery with agent Bernie Mandic telling AAP on Saturday the 31-year-old star
should be back on the pitch within four weeks.
Other reports on Saturday were suggesting Kewell could be back training within two
weeks.
The news will also come as a relief to Galatasaray, who were reportedly considering
releasing Kewell due to fears over the extent of his injury.
Any concerns Kewell could be punted by the club were allayed on Friday when they
released Congolese striker Shabani Nonda to take them back inside the quota of the
number of allowed foreign players.
Kewell has been a revelation since signing with the club two seasons ago, netting 27
goals in 62 games.
Fans of the club are desperate for him to re-sign when his contract expires at the
end of this season, even setting up a website - www.staywithusharry.com - for the
cause.
It is believed he has already attracted interest from a number of clubs in Europe.
