Hariri calls for expansion of ties between Beirut, Tehran

Beirut, Jan 30, IRNA – Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri in a meeting with Iran's Vice-President and Head of National Youth Organization Mehrdad Bazrpash here on Friday called for expansion of ties between Tehran and Beirut.

He said he will pay a visit to Tehran soon to strengthen bilateral ties.

He also called for exchanging experiences between Iranian and Lebanese youth in different scientific, cultural and economic fields.

In the meeting, the Iranian VP condoled with Prime Minister Hariri on recent plane crash in Lebanon and said the aim of his visit to Lebanon was underlining Iran's sincere intention to strengthen bilateral ties.

Bazrpash appreciated efforts of Lebanese Minister of Sport and Youth Ali Abdullah and said that the existence of a young character like Prime Minister Hariri at the head of Lebanese government helps youth to play a constructive role in administration of their own country.

Vice-President Bazrpash accompanied with Ali Abdullah inaugurated a youth friendship conference of Iranian and Lebanese young adults.

He also met with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman and Secretary General of Hezbollah Seyed Hassan Nasrollah during his stay in Lebanon.

Bazrpash and his accompanying delegation left Beirut on Friday afternoon./end
