UAE parliament ready to expand ties with Iran
Kampala, Jan 29, IRNA – Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC) Abul Aziz Abdullah Al-Ghurair said here Friday that the UAE parliament is ready to take giant strides for expansion of relations with Iran.
Speaking to Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union (IIPU), Al-Ghurair said, “Iran is our big neighbor and we will reach durable political deals with it.”
He said, “We Muslim states share many commonalties and should absolutely strengthen our unity. Our enemy wants to undermine Muslim nations but we should turn into a united Ummah.”
The IPU 12th meeting, chaired by Larijani, started on Thursday morning for a two-day work.
Larijani who left Kuwait on Wednesday ending its three-day trip to the country to chair IIPU meeting in Kampala will then visit Kenya on the way home./end
