Hanoi requests foreign-invested businesses to publicise pay scales

Hanoi (VNA) - Hanoi authorities have asked foreign-invested
enterprises in industrial and export processing zones to publicise their pay
scales before August 30 in a bid to ensure legitimate rights and interests
of labourers.

According to the capital city's authorities, the move is aimed at building a
healthy employee-employer relationship, stabilising and improving the
investment environment, and reducing the number of spontaneous labour
strikes.

The Hanoi administration also asked the foreign-invested enterprises to
strictly abide by regulations of the Labour Code, particularly those
relating to job security, salary, social insurance, working conditions and
collective labour agreements.

They also required those businesses to facilitate the establishment and
expansion of trade unions in line with article 153 of the revised Labour
Code, and hold frequent dialogues with trade union representatives to settle
labourers' petitions and concerns in accordance with the law.

Apart from that, the Hanoi authorities ordered the Management Board of
the city's Industrial and Export Processing Zones to reinforce inspections
of the enforcement of the Labour Code at foreign-investment enterprises in
order to promptly discover and address problems arising from
employee-employer relations.-Enditem
