INDONESIAN ARMY TO RECEIVE SIX MORE MI-35 HELICOPTERS
Jakarta, June 17 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Army (TNI AD) will soon receive six Russian-made Mi-35 fighting helicopters to strengthen its armament.
"Our test team returned from Russia yesterday (Monday). They went to Russia to check the helicopters' final preparedness," Army Chief of Staff Gen Agustadi Sasongko Purnomo said on the sidelines of the Indonesian military's joint exercise in East Kalimantan on Tuesday.
The six helicopters would be delivered in stages starting from June to October 2008, he said.
Earlier, Indonesia also bought two similar helicopters delivered in September 2003.
