PACE WINTER SESSION KICKS OFF
Baku, 25 January (AzerTAc). Winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has today started in Strasbourg.
The session will highlight a number of issues, including discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, situation in the Middle East, combat against trafficking in human beings, judicial corruption, respect for media freedom, detention of asylum seekers and irregular migrants, and functioning of democratic institutions in Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Azerbaijan`s parliamentary delegation to PACE led by Samad Seyidov is attending the session.
Member of the delegation Gultakin Hajiyeva said the session participants would hear a report on solving property issues of refugees and displaced persons by Danish Jorgen Poulsen.
She noted taking into consideration that most refugees in Europe have been settled in Azerbaijan, “we will raise the issue, as well.”
