Ahmadinejad urges OPEC members to support one another
Isfahan, June 17, (IRNA) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday stressed that all OPEC member states should support one another.
He made the remark in a meeting with the Venezuelan Minister of
Planning and Development Haiman El-Troudi, held on the sidelines of
the 29th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Organization of
Petroleum Exporting Countries Fund for International Development which is underway for deliberations in this ancient Iranian central city.
Iran and Venezuela can play a key role in coordinating OPEC states and ensuring the success of OPEC Fund for International Development.
He expressed his satisfaction with "the growing trend of
Tehran-Caracas bilateral cooperation".
"Victory belongs to all world freedom-seeking nations, including Iran and Venezuela," he added.
He lauded resistance of the Venezuelan government and nation against international imperialism despite all pressures and difficulties.
For his part, the Venezuelan minister referred to Tehran-Caracas
amicable ties, underlining the need for all-out cooperation among the
OPEC member states in order to solve the existing problems facing
world nations.
High-ranking officials from 12 OPEC member countries are participating in the two-day OPEC meeting.
The conference aims to remove problems facing the energy sector and
survey economic issues of the OPEC members.
