Indian Government grants scholarships to Lao people
Vientiane, June 17 (KPL) - The Indian Government has provided scholarships to one government official from the National Authority for Science and Technology, Prime Minister's Office, and one student from the National University of Laos, Mr Sith Siripraphanh and Mr Thanongdeth Southitham, respectively.
Mr. Sith Siripraphanh will attend the International Training Course on Satellite Navigation and Location Based Services in Space Applications Centre at the Indian Space Research Organisation, under the TCS Colombo Plan Scholarships.
The course will take place from 18 June to 18 July.
Mr Thanongdeth Southitham has been selected for the Course of Bachelor of Science at the Jamia Millia Islamis University, New Delhi, for a three-year period beginning from August this year under the Mekong-Ganga Co-operation Scholarship Scheme 2008-09 of the Indian Government.
Both grantees left Vientiane for India on 15 June.
