Prince Miteb bin Abdullah speaks on his visit to France
Paris, June 17 (SPA) - Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Assistant Deputy Commander of the National Guard for Military
Affairs, has underlined the significance of his visit to France in
response to an invitation from French Defense Minister Harve Morine.
In Paris, he will also attend the opening ceremony of Eurosatory Exhibition-2008.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Prince Miteb bin
Abdullah highlighted the Saudi-French relations, and said these are
historical ties.
"Undoubtedly, France is one of the advanced countries in the fields of armament and weapons, and so the Kingdom is in touch and in
contact with the friendly and cooperative countries and I believe
France is one of these countries," he said.
Prince Miteb bin Abdullah noted that his visit to the Exhibition of the international defense 'Eurosatory 2008' is not necessarily for
purchase of weapons.
"We benefit from the exhibits of such shows because the exhibitions display the most sophisticated weapons and technology," he said. "We do benefit from all countries of the world including the friendly countries which like to cooperate with the Kingdom."
Prince Miteb bin Abdullah said "there are neither agreements of
military cooperation nor contracts with France. But, there are old
contracts with the French government, and there are no new contracts
for the time being."
"The visit aims at merely getting an orientation and briefing as
well as benefiting from any new exhibit that is displayed at the
show, " he added.
