TTORNEY GENERAL READY TO STEP DOWN

Surabaya, June 17 (ANTARA) - Attorney General Hendarman Supandji said he was ready to step down if he proved to be involved in the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) case implicating businesswoman Artalyta Suryani and a number of top Attorney General Office prosecutors.

"Don't wait until tomorrow. I will step down if I am involved in the case. But because I am not involved in the case, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono asked me overcome it. And if I am mot involved but step down, then it is not a solution," Supandji said here on Tuesday.

The Attorney General made the statement after dedicating Surabaya's new State Prosecutor office building on Jalan Sukomanungga Jaya I, Surabaya.
