Tehran, Jan 24, IRNA – Visiting South African National Assembly Speaker Max Vuyisile Sisulu conferred with his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani here on Saturday afternoon.
According to the report of parliament (Majlis) Media Department, in the meeting, Larijani referred to Iran’s nuclear issue and underlined that Iran has had a sincere cooperation with International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA) from the beginning and if the US and west interaction with Iran’s peaceful nuclear program is real and not deceitful, reaching a final solution is probable.
Referring to the regional and world developments, Larijani called presence of alien forces in the region as an element of aggravation of insecurity and unrest and stated that militarism and military expedition into region cannot help fight against terrorism and drug smuggling.
He described mutual relations between Iran and South Africa 'good and growing' and said that South African president visit to Iran would open a new horizon for bilateral cooperation.
Sisulu expressed pleasure with his visit to Tehran and called Iran as a civilized and powerful country with plenty of capacities for growth and said that his visit to the country underscored importance of mutual ties and cooperation in different fields.
He described Iran a friend of African countries, especially South Africa, and added that the roots of relations and cooperation between the two countries are very firm.
Criticizing double standards of the US against Iran’s nuclear issue, Sisulu called this policy as an 'arrogant one'.
