PARTICIPANTS OF AZERBAIJAN-RUSSIA HUMANITARIAN FORUM VISIT PUBLIC TV

Baku, 23 January (AzerTAc). The participants of the first Azerbaijan-Russia forum on humanitarian cooperation have today visited the Public Television and Radio Company where they met director general Ismayil Omarov.
Omarov said mass media play an important role in development of relations between “our countries and peoples.”
He briefed the visitors on the public television`s workings, saying within short time it gained a lot of accomplishments.
Russian President`s special envoy for International and Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoi praised the activity of the public television.
He stressed the importance of carrying out joint TV projects between the two countries.
Attending the meeting, MP Elmira Akhundova, political pundit Rustam Mammadov and editor-in-chief of Ayna and Zerkalo newspapers Elchin Shikli underlined the necessity of development of ties between Azerbaijani and Russian media outlets.
It was noted TV channels had to take an active part in boosting political relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.
The visitors also saw a short film on the public TV`s activity.
