India disappointed with Australia over attacks on Indians
New Delhi, Jan 23, IRNA - Expressing disappointment over the continuing attacks on Indians, External Affairs Ministry spokesman Vishnu Prakash stressed that the Australian government needs to do more to stop such attacks.
“High Commission and Consulars in Australia are in close touch with Government of Australia, State governments and police authorities.
Safety and security of Indian nationals is very important”, said Vishnu Prakash while talking to reporters in New Delhi.
Recently two Indians, including a cabbie, were attacked in separate incidents in Brisbane. Meanwhile, the Australian government has again stressed that there was no indication that the attacks were racially motivated.
Meanwhile, Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd had regretted the assaults on Indians taking place in that country.
