PAKISTAN DEFEND ITS TERRITORIAL SOVEREIGNTY, ASKS AFGHANISTAN REFRAIN FROM MAKING IRRESPONSIBLE
Islamabad, June 17 (PPI) - Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says Pakistan shall defend its territorial sovereignty and asked Afghanistan to refrain from making ``irresponsible and threatening statements.''
He was replying to a question on Monday regarding Afghan President Hamid Karzai's statement of Sunday in which he (Karzai) threatened to send Afghan troops across the border to fight militants in Pakistan.
Qureshi said it is regrettable that such statement was made at a time when the two sides had agreed to close their ranks in the fight against terrorism.
He said the only way to win the war against terrorism and extremism is by showing full respect to territorial sovereignty and non interference in each other's internal affairs as two countries were faced with a common enemy.
