Iranian weightlifter banned for life
TEHRAN, Jan. 22 (MNA) -- Iranian weightlifter Omid Naiij Kenari has been given a life ban by the International Weightlifting Federation after a second doping offence.
Naiij previously tested positive for a banned substance four years ago.
Other members of the Iranian team, Anoush Armak and Rashid Sharifi, have also failed in their doping tests and according to IWF rules Iran's weightlifting team is on the verge of supension.
Iran Weightlifting Federation caretaker Hossein Rezazadeh is currently in Hungary to talk with IWF President Dr. Tamás Aján about the issue.
