Tsagaan Sar hopefully presages wealth and prosperity for the family. New Year's Eve is called Bituun, the last dinner of the old year. Beginning at noon, a wife starts cleaning the ger until everything is spotless.
The table is laden with dishes: the boiled sheep's back, ul boov (traditional pastry), berees (rice cooked with butter, sugar and raisins) and traditional milk products (aaruul, cheese and cream).
