KOROGHLU TO BE STAGED IN ISTANBUL
Baku, January 22 (AzerTAc). Koroghlu opera by outstanding Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hacibeyli will be staged in Istanbul as part of a series of events the city will be hosting through the year in the capacity of European Culture Capital.
The performance will be supported by Azeri Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Joint Administration of Turkic Arts and Culture.
Minister of culture and tourism Abulfaz Garayev, who attended a solemn ceremony to launch the Turkish city as Europe`s culture capital, said the event featured performance of Azeri folk song Sari Gelin among others.
According to Garayev, the ceremony saw participation of delegates from 25 countries, including Azerbaijan.
