Roddick survives tough battle

Seventh seed Andy Roddick is through to the fourth round of the Australian Open
after a tough four-set win over Feliciano Lopez.
Roddick came from a set down to beat the Spaniard 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 6-4 7-6 (7-3) on Rod
Laver Arena.
The American fired down 29 aces in the three-and-a-half-hour match in stifling
conditions.
"It was a long match, I'm just relieved to be through," Roddick said.
He faces either Evgeny Korolev or Fernando Gonzalez in the next round.
British title hope Andy Murray has continued his smooth path through the early
rounds, downing Frenchman Florent Serra 7-5 6-1 6-4 in their third round match.
The Scot has now won all three of his matches in straight sets, giving up a total of
just 22 games.
It puts the 22-year-old into the tournament's fourth round for the third time in his
career, in what is the one remaining grand slam event in which he is yet to reach a
quarter-final.
meanwhile, fourth seed Juan Martin del Potro has fought his way into the fourth
round with a four set win over Germany's Florient Mayer.
The US Open champion appeared drained after his five-set win over James Blake on
Wednesday and played an inconsistent match as he overcame Mayer 6-3 0-6 6-4 7-5.
Mayer broke him early in the fourth set, but the Argentinian made the two decisive
breaks on the German's serve to take out the match.
He will face either 14th seed Marin Cilic or No.19 Stanislas Wawrinka in the fourth
round.
