Iran invites Islamic countries to join film project on Palestine
TEHRAN, Jan. 20 (MNA) -- Iranian Deputy Culture Minister for Cinematic Affairs Javad Shamaqdari invited Islamic countries to collaborate on producing films on the occupation of Palestine.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2nd International Story of Resistance Film Festival in Beirut on January 19, he explained that Iran is planning to make a film with the central theme of 60 years of occupation of the Palestinian homeland. “The huge project will require over 10 million dollars and we need the cooperation of the Islamic and Arabic countries,” he said.
He also announced that Iran would be supporting quality films on the 33-day war in Lebanon.
Iran’s Al-Kawthar TV station sponsored the 2nd International Story of Resistance Film Festival. The event screened documentaries, music videos and animations on anti-Zionist resistance movements.
The International Story of Resistance Film Festival was established to honor the memory of the victims of the 33-day war in Lebanon, which killed at least 1,200 Lebanese, most of whom were civilians.
