Iran's non-oil exports to neighboring countries up 27%

TEHRAN, Jan. 20 (MNA) – Iran has exported more than 13 million tons of non-oil goods worth some $7.125 billion to its neighboring countries over the first 9 months of the current calendar year (began March 20, 2009).

The amount showes a 27 percent increase in terms of value compared to the last year’s figure of $5.604 billion.

The non-oil exports in terms of weight showed 44 percent rise compared to the same period last year, the report further said.

Iran’s neighboring countries include Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates.

Cement, edible oil, pistachio, fruits, saffron, pepper, chewing gum, and shoes were the main exported items.
