Taiwan man arrested for credit card fraud

BANGKOK, Jan 18 (TNA) – A Taiwanese was arrested after attempting to use a stolen credit card to buy a pricey laptop at a Bangkok department store.

Mr Li Wen Ming, suspected of being part of a large Malaysian credit card fraud syndicate, attracted the attention of the shop owner, who verified that the legal card holder is Canadian.

Police investigators seized other 17 false credit cards, a skimmer used for the theft of credit card information and other fraud tools in Mr Li’s possession.

Police also found credit card data for varied foreign businesspersons and tourists, ready to be transcribed to prepared false credit cards of over Bt 300,000 (US$9,090) in financial liability. (TNA)
