PRESIDENT WELCOMES COMOROS COUNTERPART

Tehran, June 15 (IRNA) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday welcomed his Comoros counterpart, President Abdullah Sambi.

President Sambi, heading a high-ranking political and economic
delegation arrived in Tehran on Saturday.

The Comoros president and his entourage were welcomed at Mehrabad
International airport by Minister of Cooperatives Mohammad Abbassi.

The official welcome ceremony was held at Presidential premises
downtown Tehran this morning.

During the ceremony national anthems of the two countries were played and the two presidents reviewed guard of honor.

They would start their private talks immediately after the ceremony.

A number of Comoros officials including the minister of foreign
affairs and minister of agriculture are accompanying President Sambi.

During his three-day stay, the Comoros president is to confer with
President Ahmadinejad and a number of other senior officials of the
country on issues of mutual interests.
