Iranian football juggler sets Guinness world record

DUBAI, Jan. 16 (MNA) -- Iranian football juggler Mehdi Hobbe Darvish set a Guinness world record here on Friday.

He kept a tennis ball off the ground with 144 touches in a minute.

It is expected that FIFA will invite Hobbe Darvish to the 2010 World Cup to take part in the opening ceremony.

Hobbe Darvish is the second Iranian sportsman who set a record in the book.

Previously, Iranian chess master Morteza Mahjoob simultaneously played against 500 opponents in Tehran’s Enghelab Sports Complex, scoring 397 wins, 90 draws and 13 loses for a winning percentage of 88.4 percent in August 2009.
