Uzbekistan seeks more co-op with Iran

Tashkent, Jan 16, IRNA – Uzbekistan’s deputy prime minister said Saturday his country attaches great importance to upgrading its trade relations with Iran.

Elyor Ganiyen, Uzbek Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade made the remark in an interview with IRNA correspondent in the capital city of Tashkent.

Before leaving Tashkent for Tehran, Ganiyev said Uzbekistan wants full cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly in the cultural, trade and economic fields. The Uzbek official hoped the two countries would reach agreements on further cooperation during his visit to Iran.

The Uzbek minister will be in Tehran to attend the 10th meeting of Iran-Uzbekistan joint economic commission, planned for January 17-18./end
