MAMMADYAROV NAMED TOP SCORER OF WORLD CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP
Baku, 15 January (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani chess grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov has been named
the top scorer of the world team chess championship in Bursa, Turkey.
Mammadyarov secured the title after scoring 8 points from 9 games on the fourth board.
Other Azeri grandmasters Teymur Rajabov with 5pts and Rauf Mammadov with 3 pts outclassed their rivals on the 2nd and 5th boards respectively.
Azerbaijan ranked 4th in the medal table.
