AZERI WRESTLERS CLAIM 9 MEDALS IN RUSSIA
Baku, January 14 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani young Greco-Roman wrestlers have brought home a clutch of 9 medals, including 5 golds from an international tournament in memory of Kazbek Nintsiev in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Gold medals came from Murat Bazarov weighing in at 42 kg, Elvin Aliyev at 46 kg, Elman Mukhtarov at 50 kg, Rashad Shukurov at 54 kg and Rovshan Tagiyev at 58 kg.
Karim Jafarov, Rauf Alakbarli and Royal Mirzaliyev garnered silver medals in the 42 kg, 54 kg and 85 kg divisions respectively, while Jeyhun Aliyev weighing in at 63 kg won bronze.
Along with Azerbaijan, the tournament brought together wrestlers from Finland, Belarus, Estonia and Russia.
