NATIONAL CONSUMER PRICE INDEX RISES

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ According to the preliminary estimation, in 2009 the Gross Domestic Product totalled 6,055.8 bln.togrogs at current prices, and 3,564.3 bln.togrogs at 2005 constant prices. This is an increase by 0.6 percent at current prices and a decrease by 1.6 percent at 2005 constant prices against the previous year, the National Statistics Commission reports.
The national consumer price index at the end of 2009 increased 0.7 percent and by 4.2 percent compared with the previous month and the end of previous year, respectively. All price group increased 0.4-20.2 percent, which resulted in a 4.2 percent increase in the overall index compared with the end of previous year.
