Barak After His Meeting With Al-Sudani: The Need For Effective Leadership Is A Cornerstone Of Our Shared Goals

Baghdad / NINA /- U.S. Special Envoy to Syria Tom Barrack affirmed that the need for effective leadership that pursues policies and practices strengthening the foundations of stability in Iraq is a "fundamental pillar" in achieving the "shared goals" between Baghdad and Washington.

 

In a statement issued Monday, Barrack described his meeting the previous day with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in Baghdad as "productive," explaining that "the meeting addressed Iraq's ongoing goals and aspirations for building a future characterized by sovereignty, stability, and prosperity, in line with the United States' vision and plan to promote peace and development in the region."

 

Barak stressed that "effective leadership pursuing policies and practices that strengthen stability in Iraq and serve the interests of the Iraqi people is a cornerstone" for achieving shared goals.”

 

Barak met with al-Sudani in Baghdad on Sunday. Al-Sudani's media office stated that the meeting addressed bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States, the general situation in the region, and Iraq's efforts to support regional stability, particularly in Syria./ End
