President Zhaparov receives Prime Minister Rasulzoda

Bishkek, Feb. 13, 2026. /Kabar/. Today, February 13, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov received Tajikistan's Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda as part of his working visit to the country.

The parties discussed the comprehensive development of bilateral relations.

Welcoming the distinguished guest, the head of state noted that Kyrgyzstan prioritizes the further expansion of Kyrgyz-Tajik cooperation based on mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests.

"Thanks to our shared views, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and I have reached a mutual understanding on key areas of cooperation and outlined guidelines for future collaboration," said Sadyr Zhaparov.

He noted that, following up on the agreements, the first meeting of the Kyrgyz-Tajik Intergovernmental Council was successfully held today, which should serve as an important institution for the timely and effective implementation of the tasks set.

Furthermore, President noted the need to combine efforts to counter transnational threats such as terrorism, religious extremism, drug trafficking, and organized crime.

In this context, he emphasized mutual support within the SCO for the establishment of the Anti-Drug Center in Dushanbe and the SCO Center for Combating Transnational Organized Crime in Bishkek.

In turn, Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda expressed sincere gratitude for the warm welcome and traditional hospitality extended to their delegation. He conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the President of Kyrgyzstan on behalf of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.

Prime Minister noted that their leader consistently emphasizes that strengthening good-neighborly relations with Kyrgyzstan is a priority of Tajikistan's foreign policy.

"We are sincerely inspired by the large-scale and positive transformations taking place in your country. These achievements command sincere respect and testify to the creative energy of the Kyrgyz people under your leadership," said Kokhir Rasulzoda.

He also noted that Kyrgyzstan's economic indicators are among the highest in the region.

"Thanks to your trusting dialogue with the President of Tajikistan and the political will you demonstrated, our relations have reached a qualitatively new level of interaction. The signing and entry into force of the State Border Treaty was a historic achievement, laying a solid foundation for eternal friendship, mutual respect, and trust," Prime Minister emphasized.

In conclusion, President expressed confidence that the results of the Prime Minister's visit and the joint efforts of the governments would contribute to the continued progressive and fruitful development of bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the prosperity of our states and peoples.
