Kyrgyzstan and AIIB sign new agreement on support of SMEs

Bishkek, Feb. 13, 2026. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev met with President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Zhou Jiayi.
First, Adylbek Kasymaliev congratulated Zhou Jiayi on his election as AIIB President, wished him success in her important position, and expressed confidence that this meeting would expand partnership and open up new opportunities.
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that as a result of financial, fiscal and monetary policies, the economy of Kyrgyzstan has been showing positive dynamics in recent years as a result of comprehensive efforts aimed at developing key sectors, and noted that the average economic growth rate over the past four years has been 10.2 percent.
He also noted that 12 reforms aimed at solving urgent problems were successfully implemented within the framework of the Government Accelerator Program in 2025, which were highly appreciated by the international community at the World Government Summit held in Dubai on February 2-5 of this year.
The energy sector was also discussed at the meeting. Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that the project to build the Kambarata-1 HPP will have broad economic, environmental, and social benefits and prospects.
In addition, noting the importance of one of the key infrastructure projects for Kyrgyzstan - the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, the Chairman of the Ministry of Economy proposed creating a credit line between the AIIB and state banks in priority areas such as agriculture, solar energy, and support for small and medium-sized businesses.
In turn, AIIB President Zhou Jiayi, welcomed the growth of the Kyrgyz Republic's economy and expressed his readiness to explore all opportunities to contribute to this direction.
As a result of the meeting, Kyrgyzstan and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank sign project agreement "Development of sustainable financial market for small and medium enterprises in Kyrgyzstan".
