Scientific Research Brisk at Power Bases in DPRK

 Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- According to Minju Joson, scientists of the Electricity Institute under the State Academy of Sciences in the DPRK are conducting scientific research at power bases across the country.
A research group for automation of electric power system settled the technical problems arising in remodeling the large-capacity thermal generator at the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex into a static self-excitation system. It is also making progress in the work to introduce the excitation control device and a speed regulator control system into the Sodusu Power Station No. 1.
At the Thaechon Power Station No. 1, scientists are solving sci-tech problems for the normal operation of generating equipment and increased power production.
A research group for relay protection has introduced a general automation system into the switch plant at the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex.
Scientists, dispatched to the Tanchon Power Station No. 5, solved the technical problems arising in restoring the integrated control system to successfully ensure trial operation. -0-
