2026 National Winter Games Opens in DPRK

 Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- The 2026 National Winter Games opened with due ceremony at the ice hockey gymnasium of the Paektusan area sports village in Samjiyon City on February 4.
The winter games will bring together the Ministry of Fisheries Sports Club, Jangjasan Sports Club, Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex Sports Club, etc. They will compete in more than 50 categories of ice hockey, figure skating, skiing and two other events.
Present at the opening ceremony were officials concerned, sportspersons and citizens of Samjiyon City.
A speech was made at the opening ceremony.
At the end of the ceremony, there was a men's ice hockey match between the Taesongsan Sports Club and the Pyongyang Railway Bureau Sports Club. -0-
