Kyrgyzstan opens new center for children with Down syndrome in Osh

Bishkek, Feb. 3, 2026. /Kabar/. The official opening of a multifunctional daytime resource center took place in Osh today. The center was created by the Santerra-Yug public charitable foundation to promote the social adaptation of children with Down syndrome, their integration into society, and provide comprehensive support to their parents.

According to the city administration, Osh Mayor Jenishbek Toktorbaev attended the event. The mayor learned about the center's activities, spoke with children and their parents, and participated in joint activities.

In his speech, the mayor emphasized the special significance of such social projects. Jenishbek Toktorbaev noted that supporting children with special needs, creating conditions for their full development and equal rights, is one of the priority areas of the Osh Mayor's social policy.

It is noted that over 300 families from the southern region of Kyrgyzstan are currently registered with the Santerra-Yug foundation, 70 of which are residents of Osh. The resource center's activities are aimed at developing independent living skills in children and providing social, psychological, and informational support to parents.
