Kyrgyzstan and JICA strengthen cooperation on development project

Bishkek, Jan. 30, 2028. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev held a meeting with Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Yoshikawa Yoshifumi.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the meeting focused on projects implemented in the country with JICA’s support. It was noted that a number of long-term initiatives have been successfully carried out under these projects, contributing to the improvement of the population’s living standards.

The One Village – One Product (OVOP) initiative and the Japanese Government Scholarship Program (JDS) were highlighted as vivid examples of effective and sustainable bilateral cooperation.

The parties also discussed the progress of ongoing grant and technical assistance projects in the fields of transport, healthcare, energy, and human resources development.

It was noted that a total of 43 projects have been implemented in Kyrgyzstan with JICA support. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the opening of the JICA Representative Office in the country.
