Envoy terms Chabahar as best platform for investment and assembly of Belarusian machinery in Iran

Chabahar, IRNA – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Islamic Republic of Iran Dmitry Koltsov has described Chabahar as the best platform for joint investment and assembly of Belarusian machinery in Iran.
Koltsov made the remarks in a meeting with the CEO of the Chabahar Free Zone Organization (CFZO) Mohammad Saeed Arbabi on Sunday evening.
Utilizing Iran’s transport infrastructure, especially the strategic port of Chabahar, enables cost-effective exports of Belarusian products to Iran and third countries.
Referring to the close political relations between Tehran and Minsk, he described developing economic and industrial cooperation as a priority in bilateral relations.
Belarus is ready to expand its cooperation in the production and assembly of various types of agricultural machinery, industrial equipment, and related technologies, he added.
He went on to say that establishing workshops and assembly units in areas with special advantages such as Chabahar is of great importance to Belarus.
Meanwhile, Arbabi emphasized the strategic position of Chabahar in regional trade equations.
Chabahar is more than just a port and connects Iran to Eurasian and CIS countries, the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and East Africa, and can provide a reliable and economical route for the export of Belarusian products to regional and global markets, he noted.
He expressed CFZO’s readiness to allocate land, provide investment incentives, a 20-year tax exemption, and reduced customs duties for Belarusian investors.
