KACCC Secretary-General: Establishing Regional Center for Dialogue and Peace Affirms Kingdom’s Role in Supporting Civilizational Dialogue Initiatives
Riyadh, January 04, 2026, SPA -- Secretary-General of the King Abdulaziz Center for Cultural Communication (KACCC) Dr. Abdullah Al-Fawzan stressed that the Cabinet’s approval of a draft agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on the establishment of the Regional Center for Dialogue and Peace under UNESCO auspices reflects the Kingdom’s firm commitment to supporting a culture of dialogue and understanding among peoples, and to promoting the values of peace and coexistence.
He noted that the center will serve as an effective platform for regional and international action, contributing to capacity building and disseminating UNESCO’s message of entrenching peace among cultures.
Al-Fawzan added that the center aims to promote a culture of dialogue and peace in the Arab region through capacity building. It will provide specialized training programs, conduct studies and research, and facilitate knowledge exchange. These efforts will contribute to spreading tolerance and mutual understanding, while supporting regional and international peacebuilding and coexistence initiatives.
The establishment of the center underscores the Kingdom’s role in supporting civilizational dialogue initiatives, enhancing cooperation with international organizations, contributing to the achievement of relevant Sustainable Development Goals, and advancing UNESCO’s mission of building peace among cultures.
