Shura Council Speaker Holds Official Talks Session with Tajik House of Representatives Speaker
Riyadh, January 04, 2026, SPA -- Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh held an official talks session at the council’s headquarters in Riyadh with Speaker of the House of Representatives of Tajikistan Fayzali Idizoda, who is currently on an official visit to the Kingdom.
At the outset of the session, Al Al-Sheikh welcomed Idizoda, expressing his pleasure at the visit, which reflects the depth of relations and cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan and contributes to the exchange of expertise in parliamentary work.
The Shura Council speaker stressed that Saudi Vision 2030, led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aims to boost economic and social development, diversify sources of income, and develop state institutions in a manner that enhances the Kingdom’s regional and global standing.
Al Al-Sheikh highlighted the role of the Shura Council in the legislative domain through the study of draft laws and regulations, and in the oversight domain by monitoring the performance of government entities and issuing decisions that enhance work efficiency and serve the public interest of the nation and its citizens.
For his part, Idizoda expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, noting his pleasure at visiting the Kingdom, which he described as an opportunity to enhance cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan and strengthen parliamentary relations between the two countries.
He said that relations between Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan are witnessing continuous development, adding that the bonds between the two countries stem from shared Islamic ties and are based on mutual respect and cooperation in a manner that serves their common interests.
Idizoda noted that the visit aims to enhance cooperation between the two councils, expressing Tajikistan’s gratitude to the Kingdom for its support in international organizations, and wishing the Kingdom and its people continued progress and prosperity.
During the session, the two sides reviewed areas of cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them across various fields, particularly at the parliamentary level. They underscored the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in supporting relations and strengthening cooperation and coordination among parliaments, in addition to discussing a number of issues of mutual interest.
