Msalliyah Program Launches in Historic Adhwaihrah, Connecting Children to Diriyah’s Past

Riyadh, January 04, 2026, SPA -- As part of the Diriyah Season 25/26 programs, the Msalliyah Program launched today in the historic Adhwaihrah District, one of Diriyah’s most prominent neighborhoods known for its cultural and educational character. The district is recognized for its diverse farms and its proximity to Al-Bujairi District, and throughout its history it has featured notable landmarks, including Adhwaihrah Mosque.
The program welcomes visitors daily from 10:00 a.m. and offers a series of interactive entertainment and cultural activities for children and families. These activities enrich the visitor experience by introducing intangible cultural heritage in a practical and enjoyable manner, based on discovery and active participation.
The Msalliyah Program aims to enhance shared understanding and appreciation of Diriyah’s rich heritage and to strengthen connections to identity and tradition. It achieves this through activities that combine learning and play, introducing Najdi traditions such as handicrafts, music, storytelling, and daily practices. These elements are presented in modern and engaging formats that enable children and families to interact with and celebrate living heritage.
The program includes three main activities designed to suit different age groups. It comprises seven educational workshops, in addition to the “Heritage Discovery” and “Me and My Family” activities. Together, these components offer an experience that blends knowledge with enjoyment, transforming heritage into a vibrant space for learning. The program also provides opportunities for creativity and play in a safe and inspiring environment that helps instill values and deepen pride in cultural roots.
The educational workshops offer enriching spaces for children, alongside their families, to explore authentic traditional values and skills through heritage-based experiences. The “Heritage Discovery” activities take the form of a two-hour interactive adventure for children, during which they pass through five stations and collect badges to earn the “Diriyah Scouts Badge.” Meanwhile, the “Me and My Family” experience strengthens emotional bonds through shared play, storytelling, and simple musical practices, as children and their families sit together in a single circle to participate in sensory and creative activities inspired by the heritage of Najd and Diriyah.
Diriyah Season is part of the efforts of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority to highlight Diriyah’s historical and cultural identity and enhance its position as a global destination for heritage and cultural exchange. These efforts are delivered through dynamic initiatives that redefine the relationship with the past in the language of the present and embody the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by making culture, education, and heritage essential elements in human development and community growth.
