MWL Welcomes Sudanese Government's Peace Initiative Before Security Council

   Makkah, December 29, 2025, SPA -- The Muslim World League (MWL) welcomed the Sudanese government’s peace initiative presented by Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris before the United Nations Security Council.
   In a statement issued by the League’s General Secretariat, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa stressed the urgent need for immediate steps to secure a comprehensive ceasefire and to allow the delivery of life-saving humanitarian assistance to all those affected during this critical phase, as the suffering of the Sudanese people continues to intensify. He affirmed MWL’s full support for the initiative and for all efforts aimed at ending the devastating war that has brought indescribable hardship and tragedy to Sudan.
   He also expressed the League's appreciation, on behalf of Muslim communities worldwide, for the significant efforts undertaken by Saudi Arabia to support the Sudanese people since the onset of the crisis. He highlighted the Kingdom’s ongoing role in safeguarding Sudan’s unity, the safety of its people, and its resources, from the Jeddah Declaration to the recent announcement by US President Donald Trump that Washington would begin urgent work, in partnership with Saudi Arabia, to end the war and establish peace in Sudan, in response to the request of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
