Saudi Intellectual Property Authority Launches Hackathon to Engage Young Innovators

Riyadh, December 25, 2025, SPA -- The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) launched today the "Eye Opener" hackathon, an initiative designed to engage young talents in developing creative solutions to institutional challenges while promoting a culture of open innovation.
The initiative connects the intellectual property ecosystem with the community through an innovative volunteer model. It welcomes university students, recent graduates, entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in the intellectual property sector. By combining volunteer work with real-world institutional innovation, SAIP offers participants valuable hands-on experience.
Hackathon activities included introductory sessions and interactive workshops, where participants learned tools like root cause analysis and user experience mapping under the guidance of SAIP’s innovation ambassadors. Teams then presented their solutions to a specialized evaluation committee to assess their feasibility and recognize the winning ideas.
The initiative reflects SAIP’s commitment to social responsibility and its goal of empowering young people with professional skills while benefiting from their fresh perspectives to advance the Kingdom’s intellectual property system.
