Culture Ministry Launches Common Ground Festival, Celebrating Saudi-Chinese Cultural and Artistic Exchange

Riyadh, December 25, 2025, SPA -- The Common Ground Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture as part of the Saudi-China Cultural Year, opened today at the Malfa Hall in Misk City, Riyadh, marking the beginning of a celebration of creativity and cultural exchange between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People’s Republic of China.
The festival, which runs until January 6, 2026, offers an immersive experience where visitors can explore shared cultural traditions through exhibitions and performances that connect the two civilizations. It caters to families, foreign visitors, official delegations, and cultural professionals through a diverse program featuring an art exhibition, a newly introduced Cultural Street experience blending both cultures through handicrafts, performances, music, and other events that celebrate shared heritage and foster cultural understanding.
The first edition of the festival hosted the Republic of Yemen, and the second hosted the Republic of Iraq. Both editions attracted large audiences and active participation from intellectuals and enthusiasts, strengthening the festival’s reputation as an annual cultural platform celebrating human diversity.
Through the festival, the Ministry of Culture aims to showcase Saudi culture in an interactive context, highlighting connections and contrasts with global cultures, promoting cultural diversity, empowering creators and artists, expanding international cultural cooperation, and building strategic partnerships to develop the creative industries—aligning with the national culture strategy under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
