Al-Sudani Discusses Regional Stability with U.S. Special Envoy to Syria

Baghdad /NINA/-Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met on Sunday with the U.S. Special Envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, to discuss ways to enhance security and stability in Syria in a manner that positively reflects on Iraq and the wider region.

A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said the meeting addressed practical efforts to support Syria’s economic recovery and prosperity, as part of a shared vision to strengthen regional stability.

The talks also included an exchange of views on preventing any further escalation in the region, emphasizing the importance of diplomacy in resolving disputes and establishing foundations for cooperation, sustainable development, and long-term stability.
