Founding Anniversary of General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea Marked

 Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held at the Central Hall of Workers on November 29 to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK).
Present there were Kim Jong Sun, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the Central Committee of the GFTUK and the trade unions at all levels in Pyongyang and local areas, officials concerned and members of the trade union in Pyongyang.
Choe Jong Chol, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the GFTUK, made a report.
The reporter referred to the fact that President Kim Il Sung declared the founding of the GFTUK, the unified political organization involving the broad working class, on November 30, 1945 and wisely led the working class to fulfill its responsibility and duty as the vanguard unit of the revolution.
He noted that Chairman Kim Jong Il provided firm guidelines for developing the GFTUK into a reliable assistant and defender of the Party and further consolidated it into the ranks of true revolutionaries armed with the revolutionary idea of the leader.
He said that the GFTUK is invariably adhering to its revolutionary character and ushering in a heyday of development under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
The reporter stressed that the working class and trade union members should successfully fulfill the five-year plan and proudly greet the Ninth Congress of the WPK, by always being aware of the Party's trust and expectation and kindling the flames of the increased production at working places. -0-
