Cannes, Nov. 20 (BNA): Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, participated in the European Refining Technology Conference (ERTC), organised by the World Refining Association.

The conference is regarded as one of the foremost international events in the refining and petrochemicals industry, drawing extensive participation from experts, specialists and industry leaders from around the world.

Dr. Bin Daina announced that the Kingdom will host the World Refining Summit from April 13-15, 2026, organised by the Ministry of Oil and Environment in cooperation with Bapco Refining. This announcement underscores Bahrain’s distinguished position as a leading regional hub for the refining and energy industries, as well as its proven ability to host specialised international events of strategic importance in this vital sector.

The minister affirmed that Bahrain’s hosting of this major international event underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening its role as a centre for global energy-focused forums. He emphasised the importance of keeping pace with the latest developments in the refining and petrochemicals sector, discussing the future of the refining industry and the pathways of energy transition, and showcasing the latest technologies and innovations driving development and sustainability in this critical field.

He further noted that hosting such international events plays a key role in facilitating the exchange of expertise with leading nations, and in gaining insight into global best practices in operational safety, energy efficiency and emissions-reduction technologies.
